5th GRADE STUDENTS INTERESTED IN ACCELERATED MATH AT DESERT RIDGE MIDDLE SCHOOL

Where? Desert Ridge Middle School Cafeteria
When? SaturdayMarch 11th, 9:30 am - 11:30 am OR WednesdayMarch 15th3:15 pm - 5: 15 pm

  • Any student wanting to enroll in an accelerated or gifted math class at DRMS must attend one of the offered sessions.
  • Regardless of prior IEP eligibilities, all gifted students need to take the math placement test to provide baseline assessment data.
  • There is no need to register beforehand, just show up on one of the two designated testing days.
  • Parents must arrange transportation.
  • Please bring paper and pencils to the test.  No calculators allowed.
  • Testing will begin promptly.  It is a timed test, two 40-minute sections.  It will take students less than 2 hours to complete including testing directions and a short break between sections.
  • Paents will be notified of their child’s math placement results through a letter sent home with the student shortly after Spring Break.

All current 6th grade students need to have a Tdap injection prior to starting 7th grade.  Please check your child's shot records for documentation that this injection has been done and provide us with a current copy.

If your child has not been vaccinated and you wish to avoid an extra line at registration in August, please have the injection done and the record turned in to the health office by 4/28/17.  This will allow time to update the charts before closing for the summer break.

If you choose to have the injection during the summer break you will need to bring documentation with you on the registration day in August.  Please do not drop off any records during the summer break.

If you have any questions please call Cyndi Brault, Health Assistant at 857-9282 Ext. #33813.
