Spring 2019 “Transition”/SBA Testing Schedule

Desert Ridge Middle School

  • Students will test with their own Math and ELA classes on a block schedule.
  • Students will not miss other classes, unless they are absent or have small group/extended time accommodations on a test.
  • A small number of students will test early, April 15-18 due to the accommodations listed above. Students will be notified ahead of time.
  • With this schedule, our hope is that students will be able to continue valuable work in their non-testing classes, though teachers have been instructed to avoid homework during this time.

ELA/Algebra Testing Schedule: April 22-25

All students will take two 90-minute tests within their regular ELA and Algebra class periods. Students will have lunch according to when their advocacy teacher has lunch.

Make-up Testing:

Teachers will be instructed to complete make-up testing with students when possible throughout the window, meaning they’ll keep them an extra period when needed to complete a missed test. Students who have not completed their missed tests by May 7 will be pulled from class by the testing coordinator to finish, sometime between May 7th and 10th.

Please know that once a student starts a test session, they MUST finish it that day, or it will be invalidated and the student will not have a chance to take the test again. Be aware of this when taking your student out of school; please try to schedule appointments outside of the school day, or at least at a different time from when they are testing.
